PHOTOSYNTHESIS

Photosynthesis is a biochemical process in which high-energy substances are produced from low-energy substances by harnessing the energy of light. In a first step, the light energy is converted into chemical energy using light-absorbing pigments in the plants (chlorophyll) . This chemical energy is used in the next step to develop high-energy organic compounds: carbohydrates, proteins, fats and oxygen. Solar energy is therefore converted directly into nutrients forming the basis for the subsequent food chain. Photosynthesis is the key to and driving factor for all bio-geochemical cycles in all ecological systems on earth.

STRONG BLUE COMPONENT

In order to grow and thrive, plants require light with an increased blue component which promotes vegetative growth. In nature, this happens on days with extensive sunlight when plants take advantage of the high blue component to invest in their growth. Plants require the red component of light for fruit production. They draw on this red light in nature at times of reduced periods of sunshine. The increased red component offered by the lamp therefore ensures that your plants produce abundant fruit even under artificial conditions.

HIGH PAR VALUE

The PAR value indicates how high the light components are which are of particular relevance for photosynthesis (PAR = photosynthetically active radiation). Plants require electromagnetic wavelengths of approx. 450 nm (blue light spectrum) and between 650 and 710 nm (red light spectrum) for photosynthesis. This energy is indicated by the PAR value. The higher the PAR value, the better it is for the plant and its energy production. A high PAR value increases the growth rate as well as flowering and fruiting.
